Longitudinal Neutrophil Cd64 Expression As a Biomarker For Acute Infection and Severity of Disease in Critically Ill Patients

چکیده
Introduction Cluster of Differentiation 64 (CD64) antigen is a membrane glycoprotein expressed on monocytes and macrophages. It is the high affinity neutrophil FcgRI receptor which is weakly expressed by neutrophils at physiological levels, but strongly upregulated within 4-6 hours by the pleiotropic cytokines such as Interferon-g (IFN-g) and Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor (G-CSF) which are produced in sepsis [1]. CD64 can be used as a diagnostic marker of bacterial infection and sepsis using flow cytometry.

Flow Cytometric Determination of Neutrophil CD64 (nCD64) in Children with Community Acquired Pneumonia
Background The expression of CD64 in neutrophils (nCD64) has shown utility in the diagnosis of sepsis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic value of neutrophil CD64 in pneumonia as an early marker for infection and correlate its level with the outcome of...
متن کاملChronic alcohol exposure, infection, extended circulating white blood cells differentiated by flow cytometry and neutrophil CD64 expression: a prospective, descriptive study of critically ill medical patients
UNLABELLED BACKGROUND A history of prolonged and excessive consumption of alcohol increases the risk for infections. The goal of this study was to investigate circulating white blood cells (WBC) differentiated by flow cytometry and neutrophil CD64 expression in excessive alcohol drinkers versus abstinent or moderate drinkers, and in those with or without infection, in medical patients admitt...
متن کاملEvaluation of CD64 Expression on Peripheral Blood Neutrophils for Early Detection of Neonatal Sepsis
Background: Neonatal sepsis is a life-threatening disease with an incidence of 1 to 10 per 1000 live births and a mortality rate of 15% to 50%. The clinical signs are non-specific and indistinguishable from those caused by a variety of neonatal noninfectious disorders. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the importance of CD64 expression (FcgRI), a neutrophil surface marker, in ea...

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the value of the neutrophil CD64 index for diagnosing secondary infection in Severe Acute Pancreatitis (SAP) patients. Methods: A total of 43 patients with SAP were enrolled between January 2011 and December 2015. Patient Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II and Rason scores were calculated and blood samples were collected to determine the...
متن کاملRelationship between Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte Ratio and the Severity of Coronary Artery Disease in Patients Undergoing Cardiac Catheterization
Introduction: Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is considered as an independent predictor of long-term prognosis in the individual patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). This study sought to assess the relationship between NLR and CAD severity in Iranian patients undergoing cardiac catheterization.Material and Methods: This prospective study was conducted on 500 patients with acute cor...
